1984 Spindrift 52 Sundeck Motor Yacht
Spindrifts were manufactured in Taiwan in the Kha Shing yard in the 1980s-1990s. Spindrift yachts were built under solid fiberglass hulls. Most notable features were their popular floor plans, lavish teak trimmed interiors, and sleek sheer lines. They are renown for their tremendous value for a 52-58 foot yacht.
The sundeck and the aft master cabin are full beam width sections that take advantage of the nearly 16 foot beam on the 52. The raised sundeck is perfect for relaxing or entertaining a crowd. The master cabin boasts a centerline queen bed surrounded by teak cabinets, drawers, hanging lockers, and teak framed mirrors. The spacious salon is up with plenty of elbow room. A lower helm is tucked away in an attractive teak cabinet. Relax in the salon on the sofa or in a recliner chair and watch TV on the flat screen or just enjoy the view from the encompassing salon windows. The galley is down and forward a few steps. Opposite the galley to starboard is a large U shaped dinette with a teak table. Forward is the guest stateroom. Here you can sleep 4 persons in 4 separate berths. There is a unique teak partition that can pull out and separate the forward guest cabin into two private cabins. There are two private head compartments with Corian type counter tops, Vacuflush toilets, and separate shower stalls.
The older 52 Spindrifts remain a popular option today for the truly amazing value they represent in todays overpriced new boat market. No Reservations has a non skid deck forward instead of the troublesome teak decks on most 52 and 58 models that can cause pain to your wallet. The 52 Spindrift is the same boat as the 58, with the exception that the 58 has a 6 foot cockpit aft.
